Pimples on the face: we explain everything to you

Ah the pimples on the face… We would be fine, right? However, skins without any pimples are rare! Especially at the moment with the mask due to the health situation. Usually, they are found on the T zone: chin, nose and forehead. But for some people, they are also present on the cheeks, on the temples, on the neckline, the arms or the back. Most of the time, acne is more pronounced in teenagers. But in recent years, we have also seen more and more adult acne. The reasons ? Hormonal changes during menstrual cycles for women. Stress, poor diet, lack of water or sleep for everyone. Often benign once adulthood arrives, it is no less bothersome ... We tell you about acne: why and how it is formed and which Kadalys products to treat it!

Why and how are pimples formed?

Whether you are an adult or a teenager, pimples appear for several reasons. First, hormonal changes. In adolescence, our body is upset and our hormones too! The sebaceous glands, responsible for the production of sebum which is itself responsible for protecting our skin, start to overproduce sebum. As a result, this higher than normal sebum production is poorly managed by the skin and small pimples eventually appear. The excess sebum can be improved with the help of a scrub or purifying cream. Be careful not to overdo it at the risk of causing your skin to react… which will produce even more to defend itself!

Healthy living is also a very important factor. Lack of sleep will affect the condition of our skin. When we sleep little, our organs have little time to rest and therefore recover. We will be more irritable and digest less well, for example. But it is our liver that helps us to have beautiful skin! Little sleep therefore leads us to have a dull complexion and see pimples appear.

Food is also something to watch out for! Some foods more or less favor the appearance of pimples. Cold meats, cheese and alcohol are part of it, for example. This is not about restricting yourself but enjoying everything in moderation, without forgetting to drink plenty of water to help our liver digest.

Our skin is the image of our inner health, it is not uncommon to see stress pimples appear the day before an exam or interview. The solution ? Relax, drink a good infusion and sleep well before the fateful date!

What are the different types of pimples?

There are several types of acne and therefore several types of pimples:

juvenile acne: classic puberty acne! It manifests itself in the form of black dots distributed all over the face. Then it evolves with microcysts or classic comedones. Of course, the best thing to do is not to touch it, even if it is complicated! Always remember to keep your hands clean when touching your face to avoid the risk of infection.

adult inflammatory acne. It appears in the form of red and often thick pimples (microcysts). Most of the time, it comes into adulthood. Anyone can be affected, even people who didn't have pimples as a teenager! Pimples are found on the face, neckline and a lot on the back in men.

cystic acne. It's a rather painful acne: the pimples are deep and thick. They are felt to the touch, they are also often hard and inflamed, which makes the skin unpleasant. Inaccessible, they cannot be treated with creams or fluids. If you are prone to this type of acne, see a dermatologist.

hormonal acne. Acne is by definition hormonal since it is caused by a buildup of sebum. It is also possible that it is due to a hormonal imbalance, such as during pregnancy or before a woman has her period. For this type of acne, you should also consult specialists to control your hormone levels. You can soothe it with creams or by making masks or scrubs.

Generally speaking, all skin types can be prone to acne, although oily skin is still more “lucky”.

How to get rid of pimples on the face?

Depending on the types of pimples you have, you may or may not be able to make them go away on your own! Microcyst-like pimples, for example, will be difficult to treat with creams. These are pimples which are located more under the skin and which cause large inflammations. Most of the time, they're so painful you can't touch them!

Blackheads can be removed quickly using a steam bath. All you need to do is boil some water, put it in a bowl and place your head, covered with a towel, on top for a few meters. Your pores will open and you just need to apply a little pressure around the blackhead for it to dislodge!
Whiteheads, or pimples on the surface of the skin, can be treated with cleansing fluid or cream. Choose treatments containing essential oils of Tea Tree, Peppermint or Lavender.
No matter what type of acne affects you, never break your pimples! Most of the time piercing them leaves us with little red inflamed pimples or scars that have a hard time coming off. You have to take your pain patiently to regain healthy skin!
