Hyaluronic acid
INCI Name: Sodium Hyaluronate
Usual Name: Hyaluronic Acid
Origin: Wheat
Hyaluronic acid is an active ingredient known for its anti-aging, hydrating, and plumping properties. It is a natural component of connective tissues: skin, cartilage, synovial fluid, cornea, etc.
Hyaluronic acid exists in different sizes; we use it in the following forms:
-
High Molecular Weight: It forms a non-occlusive hydrating film on the surface layers of the epidermis, helping to maintain the skin's natural hydration thanks to its exceptional hygroscopic properties. This results in soft and velvety skin.
-
Medium Molecular Weight: It strengthens the skin's natural defenses, stimulates the release of beta-defensins by keratinocytes, and promotes skin repair. This is a biomimetic hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid that helps maintain the skin's protective barrier by stimulating the release of specific molecules: ß-defensins.
-
Low Molecular Weight: It regulates hydration and increases skin firmness. It enhances collagen synthesis and reduces skin roughness. This regenerating and cytoprotective agent strengthens the skin, making it appear more youthful.
