What are the benefits of bananas on hair?

The banana has no more to prove in terms of benefits on the body! Its nutritional properties are quite incredible: good contribution in carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins of all kinds, potassium, magnesium, manganese or selenium, it is the healthy snack par excellence. Apart from these virtues for the body, it is also highly recommended for beauty use. And yes, the banana is full of surprises! Today we give you all the benefits it brings to the hair, follow us!

Why is banana used for skin and hair care?

The nutrients mentioned above are all as good for the body as they are for the skin! For example, the richness in vitamins of the banana gives it exceptional antioxidant virtues: very rich in vitamin C (vitamin that acts in the production of collagen) and vitamins A and E (vitamins that act in delaying skin aging), it is estimated that the yellow banana is 21 times more antioxidant than argan oil! As for the pink banana, it is 4500 times more! When used in a face care product, it controls the action of free radicals and helps to delay the arrival of the first fine lines and wrinkles. It is a quality anti-aging ingredient not to be overlooked!

To regain an elastic and comfortable skin, nothing better than a moisturizing cream based on banana. Its high fatty acid and water content makes it a very moisturizing component, ideal for dry skin. On acne-prone skin, banana acts as a purifying ingredient: the vitamin B6 regulates sebum production and the sugars it contains act as a natural exfoliant! As you can see, the banana's many virtues are available to all skin types. And if you ever want to use it on your teeth, it's possible because the banana peel has lightening properties! Simply rub the inside of a banana peel on your teeth after brushing several times a week!

As far as hair care is concerned, it is used for its good contribution in nutrients and moisturizing agents. Its properties mentioned above (rich in vitamins and antioxidants) are also very good for the hair! Thanks to its cosmetic properties, the banana is a beauty ingredient of choice whether you need hair or face care.

What are the benefits of bananas for hair?

As for its benefits on hair, the banana also has a good number of them! For example, its richness in water and fatty acids makes it a moisturizing and nourishing agent for the driest and most brittle hair. Moisturized and nourished, hair is more elastic, supple and shiny! Banana is also used for revitalizing care, it is perfect in case of dull or colored hair since it takes care of the hair color. Repairing and fortifying, it restores strength to the hair. Use after use, it regains its health and strength!

In more targeted scalp care, banana boosts hair growth and slows hair loss. It also has the power to relieve and soothe the most sensitive and irritated scalps. Thanks to this action, it effectively fights dandruff!

If you don't want to get into homemade hair care recipes, you can add a few banana slices to your shampoo. Otherwise, homemade masks are great for silky, healthy hair!

Banana Hair Mask Recipes

If you want to get started on making homemade hair masks with banana, we're slipping in two mask ideas and one moisturizer idea!

  • For a hydrating banana hair mask:

- Mix one mashed ripe banana with one plain yogurt, one egg yolk and one teaspoon of honey.

- Apply to damp or dry hair and leave on for at least 1 hour.

- Rinse with clear water and shampoo!

  • For a hair loss mask with banana:

- Mash a banana in a bowl then add a tablespoon of honey and mix until the mixture becomes a paste that holds together well.

- Apply to the scalp using circular motions to activate blood circulation.

- Leave on for about 30 minutes and rinse with your shampoo.

Finally, you can apply a homemade banana peel treatment! In a saucepan, cover the banana peel you just used with vegetable oil (of your choice). Let it cook over low heat until the banana peel turns black, then turn off the heat and wait for the mixture to cool. You can then put it in a glass bottle and use this homemade moisturizer every day!
